Recognizing and comprehending these traditions is a vital and fundamental factor in preventing the destruction of nations and ensuring their progress and dignity, for the Divine traditions operate within present communities just as they did within those of the past. A comprehensive understanding of the causes that led to the downfall of previous societies can be transmitted to other nations and communities, thereby preventing their destruction. On this basis, examining the characteristics of Divine and social traditions—namely, analyzing the constituent and formative elements, as well as the conditions of these Divine laws that have influenced human life since creation—is of great importance and necessity. Human beings and societies must be aware of the reasons, causes, and circumstances behind the events that befall them, so that through affirmative or preventive action, they may respond appropriately and traverse their worldly and spiritual journey toward happiness, perfection, and Divine proximity in the shortest and most correct path. Accordingly, the components of Divine and social traditions in the Qur’an and its exegetical literature have been discussed—through library-based research and descriptive-analytical methods—in such aspects as their foundation upon the principle of causality, universality and comprehensiveness, permanence and immutability, compatibility with human free will, guidance-oriented nature, social dimension, and the succession of Divine traditions. هر قاعدة کلی و جهان‌شمولی که در رابطه با رشد، شکوفایی، تعالی یا سقوط و انحطاط انسان و جامعه باشد، بیانگر سنتی از سنن الهی و اجتماعی است. شناخت و درک این سنن، عامل مهم و اساسی در جلوگیری از نابودی امت‌ها و عامل پیشرفت و عزت است؛ زیرا سنن الهی همان‌گونه در جوامع و امت‌های حاضر جریان می<span dir="LTR" style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-font-family: 'B Nazanin'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-font-family: 'B Nazanin'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-font-family: 'B Lotus';">‌یابد که در سابق جریان یافته است و آگاهی جامع نسبت به آنچه در جوامع پیشین باعث سقوط آن‌ها شده، می<span dir="LTR" style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-font-family: 'B Nazanin'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-font-family: 'B Nazanin'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-font-family: 'B Lotus';">‌تواند در سایر امت‌ها و جوامع تسری یابد و به دنبال آن از نابودی امت جلوگیری کند. بر این پایه واکاوی مشخصه‌های سنن الهی و اجتماعی؛ یعنی بررسی عوامل تشکیل‌دهنده، سازنده و شرایط سنت‌ها و قواعد آن‌که از جانب خداوند در زیست انسان از اول خلقت تاکنون دخیل بوده، بسیار مهم و ضروری است، چراکه انسان و اجتماع باید از چرایی اتفاقاتی که بر وی عارض می‌گردد، علل و عوامل و شرایط آن اطلاع داشته باشد تا بتواند با عملکرد ایجابی یا سلبی نسبت به آن اتفاقات، اقدامی نماید و زندگی دنیوی و اخروی خویش را در رسیدن به سعادت، کمال و قرب الهی با کوتاه‌ترین زمان و درست‌ترین راه طی کند. با این بیان مؤلفه‌های سنن الهی و اجتماعی در قرآن و تفاسیر، با توجه به بررسی‌های کتابخانه‌ای و روش تحلیلی و توصیفی در مواردی ازجمله ابتناء بر اصل علیت، عمومیت و فراگیر بودن، ثبات و تغییرناپذیری، سازگاری با اختیار انسان، هدایت‌گری و اجتماعی بودن و توالی سنت‌های الهی، بیان‌شده است.
