Abstract
This research, by explaining the results of the luxurism (luxurious lifestyle) of the authorities, aims to make the people and officials aware of the consequences of this phenomenon and to prevent the spread of the Western lifestyle in the Islamic society; because according to religious teachings and historical evidence, one of the main factors of the decline of powerful  communities and governments like Andalusia and Safavid have been the "luxurism" of leaders and authorities. For this reason, the Supreme Leader called luxurism and aristocracy as a great threat and recommended the Islamic lifestyle in the statement of the Second Step of the Revolution.
Therefore, in this research, using library sources and descriptive analytical method, the consequences of authorities' luxurism are explained and investigated with emphasis on the 16th verse of Surah Al-Isra. The findings of the research indicate that the luxurism and aristocracy of the authorities cause them to become reckless and irresponsible towards the society and to distance themselves from the people. It also paves the way for consumerism in the society and takes away the motivation of production and causes the dependence of the society and the foundation of corruption and oppression and forgetting God Almighty, each of these factors alone is enough for the backwardness and fall of a society, especially the Islamic society.
