ABSTRACT The issue of education and upbringing is one of the topics of special importance, among which values constitute an important part of education and upbringing, which is given great importance among different schools and thoughts. The present study is a qualitative research and its method is analytical-descriptive, which has studied and compared the views of Islam and existentialism in the field of education of values. The results of the research show that the religion of Islam considers the purpose of education and training of values as the harmonious growth of different dimensions of human existence and leading them to God. While the existentialist school emphasizes the unity and freedom of the individual vis-a-vis the group, congregation, or mass society, which has strengths such as highlighting the desire for freedom, considering man to be valuble, and avoiding instrumentalism and objectification. But, due to the lack of attention to the various dimensions of human existence, it has given an incomplete definition [of man] and has not provided a comprehensive program for the education of values; In this research, the method of collecting information is through library method so the required information has been collected by using specialized books and articles published in this field and relying on Islamic texts and sources.
