Abstract
Self-knowledge means knowing all the dimensions of self-existence and how they relate and effect each other, knowing one's origin and destination as well as his talents and abilities, positive and negative powers, through which can be prevented from many (psychological) diseases. The current research aims to examine the effect of self-knowledge on the prevention of psychological diseases in the society (such as suicide, addiction, obsession and divorce) by relying on the Qur'an and hadiths, with a descriptive-analytical method and using related library resources, in order to investigate their causes and reasons and present solutions for their presentation.
The importance of this topic is evident from the fact that despite the progress of science and technology and the provision of various solutions to improve and maintain the individual and social health of man, the problems in this field still persist, so that it is one of the problems of the last century in various communities, and day by day the problems of the society such as divorce, suicide, addiction and obsession increase. So it is better to use the guidelines of the Holy Qur'an and hadiths about self-knowledge in this context.
The results of this research show that according to the pathology of these diseases, the main cause and reason is the lack of self-knowledge, which causes a one-dimensional view of human beings and lack of attention to the needs of the two dimensions of body and soul, and the result is the appearance of these problems. In order to prevent, promote and treat these diseases and achieve success in this field, one should know the self-soul. With a culture based on self-knowledge, diseases such as suicide, addiction, obsession, and divorce are expected to decrease.
